The official opening of the new NSW Custom manufacturing plant in Villawood was officially opened 24th May 2010 by the Premier of NSW Kristina Keneally with the NSW Minister of Roads and Transport John Robertson.

This $20 million investment by Custom represents the changing forces within the organisation to modernise whilst maintaining its manufacturing base in Western Sydney NSW. With many Australian organisations moving its manufacturing offshore this level of investment in local industry is something to celebrate. Read more »

The NSW Premier Kristina Keneally handed out a number of certificate of achievement awards to staff that had completed their apprenticeships, training and studies at Custom Villawood recently.

Steve Freeman and Mathew Whitley were presented with their  Vehicle Body Builder apprenticeship, Aaron Faint  Automotive was presented with his Spray Painter apprenticeship and Philip Dean for Engineering (Fabrication Trade) 3.

Special certificates were given to Peter Nguyen, Zearat Haq, Stuart Curran, for successful completion of the laser cutter. The laser machine are some of the most sophisticated in Australia and the only machines of this type in Australian bus building industry. They are a direct result of our benchmarking with Global Best Practice Competitors. Lasers provide computer controlled, flexible, high speed, accurate processing of materials. This reduces waste & provides improved yields in all areas of the production. More importantly the bus finish quality is improved from “industrial “to automotive finish. Read more »
