Transport Reform Paper

The National Transport Commission (NTC) recently released Exploring the Opportunities for Reform  discussion paper, on the Australian transport system.

NTC presents the important argument that a good and reliable transport system  benefits the nation’s economy and the prosperity of its citizens, by allowing the efficient movement of people and goods around cities and urban areas.

The paper states that, ‘the current Australian transport system, is a result of a highly urbanised society but with low densities resulting in a dependency on cars and road infrastructure investment. In the past the transport system has been able to cope with this situation – however a range of challenges such as congestion, increased population, cost of oil and climate change is placing pressure on the current system’.

Sydney to the Hunter Charity Ride

The Sydney to the Hunter cycling event is on again the gruelling 350 km bike ride starting 15th September, with a Custom team stronger than ever including for the first time our very own CEO Mark Burgess.

The Custom team consists of: Customs Mark Burgess, CEO, Stephen Crouch, Board Member, Andrew Payne, Area Manager Electrical, Daniel Bale, 2IC Production Manager, Sam Santana from High Pressure Thermoforming Australia Stephanie Burgess and Umang Gohil

Custom is a main supporter of ONE80TC the charity that organises the ‘Sydneyto the Hunter’ event. 

 Last year thanks to generous contributors Custom was able to raise almost $16,000 for the charity ONE80TC through the fund raising eventSydneyto the Hunter.

 ONE80TC is a residential program that helps 16 to 35 year old men with serious issues such as drug & alcohol addiction, gambling addiction, depression and suicidal tendencies to face their challenges and turn their lives around.
