Custom Group
In June 2012, Custom was purchased by Scottish based bus builder Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL). ADL a leading bus and coach manufacturer, operating worldwide in the UK, Hong Kong, China, North America, New Zealand and now Australia.
Custom originated as a family business in 1935 as Cycle Components Manufacturing Company (CCMC) in the Sydney suburb of Guildford. The company started as a manufacturer of parts, which expanded into a range of wheeled toys. The company expanded their manufacturing base again into other areas such as seating, resulting in the natural progression as bus body builder. In 1955 CCMC tendered successfully for the supply of 125 city buses and embarked on a business plan that continues to lead the Australian bus transport building body market.
Custom’s history of progress and identifying innovative opportunities continues, with Custom developing and expanding into new frontiers. Custom offers service, sales and support sites in NSW, QLD, VIC and SA and the capacity to build over 700 buses per annum available throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Custom Bus
Custom’s traditional area of expertise continues to advance with the design and development of a new range of buses, including the new generation CB80 city bus and SB50 school bus.
Custom Care
The bus industry’s one-stop after sales centre offers bus parts, repairs, refurbishments and technical advice. To meet growing demands Custom Care recently expanded its services into Queensland and Victoria.
Custom Manufacturing
Custom Manufacturing has always produced a significant share of the parts that go into a Custom buses, however, now armed with the newly purchased laser machine, Custom Manufacturing will be producing parts for other companies along with bus kits for easier exports.
Custombus Finance
For the benefit of clients Custom now provides financing services for an integrated fleet management solution.
